Welcome to the Merchi glossary. All the need-to-know terms to get you using Merchi in an efficient way. This glossary describes key Merchi concepts, terminology, and features and it's a good place to get started learning how to set up and use Merchi.
Buyers - The final consumer of a piece of merchandise. Typically a fan of the brand or individual selling on Merchi.
Domain - A Domain is your Store and is the top level administration entity for users & products. It has the format 'name.merchi.co'
DTF (Direct to Fabric) - Printing technique used to print on demand fabric (cushions, towels, linen etc)
DTG (Direct to Garment) - Printing technique used to create made on demand apparel (t-shirts, jumpers, hoodies etc)
Job - A job is an order for merchandise or it could be a product creation order which would be used on a Seller's store
Merch / Merchandise - Custom printed or branded products produced for the purpose of reselling.
Merchi Supplier - Suppliers are the makers in the market. Suppliers have the ability to produce, print & generally customise goods for sale & re-sale
Merchi Seller - Sellers are individuals & organisations with a brand who want to develop & grow the selling of unique custom products to their audience
MOD - Merchandise that can be printed on request, removing inventory. Typically not required to invest in stock
MOD Product - A product that is Made on Demand. This product type is for products that you wish to add to the Merchi Marketplace and it is also used for client store creation purposes - enabling your clients to order these products from their own store
MOQ - Traditional manufacturing, requires a minimum order quantity to commence production. For example a screen printer may require 20-30 units as a MOQ
Product Variations - Product Variations allow you to set a range of options that you want available for each product. These include colour and size options, as well as text fields and much more
Sellers -Individuals & organisations that use Merchi to manage their merchandise business; selling custom products to their audience and fans
Seller Product - A pre made product that is listed on a Seller’s store, that cannot be customised. This is a product that a Seller already has inventory of and just wishes to add to their store
Shipments - Shipments are orders that have been sent out
Suppliers - Companies & individuals who produce custom printed products. These include a wide range of printing companies, direct to garment (DTG) printers, screen printers, embroiders etc
Supplier Product - A general purpose custom made product. This product can be MOD (Made on Demand) or MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) but cannot be sold on the Merchi Marketplace
Themes - A customisable template that you can use for your Merchi Store
Third Party Supplier - A Third Party Supplier is a Supplier who provides products that a Primary Supplier does not have in their catalogue
User - Everyone that uses Merchi is a User and will have a User Profile
Value Chain Management - The entire ecosystem of merchandise; eCommerce, fulfilment & management
