Video Tutorial here:
We'll take a look through Merchi's 'Product Inventory' settings and how you can use them to manage your inventory.
To enable 'inventory' for this particular Product..
make sure you're on the Inventory tab and toggle the Inventories 'switch' to 'Yes'.
Next, we have ‘Allow Open Inventories' which permits customers to Order a number of Products.. greater than the quantity.. carried in your 'inventory'.
Optionally allowing the excess quantity to be placed on Back-Order. This is handy, if you've run out of stock but have more on the way.
Alternatively, with 'Allow Open Inventories', disabled customers will only be able to order the quantity of Products displayed in your inventory.
Next, we have 'Generate product inventories'..
Which, if enabled will compile the ‘variations’ available on this particular product.. creating a matrix of your Product variations such as Colours & Sizes which is where, you can key your quantities into.
'Allow Chained Inventory' provides your Resellers with the capability to provide a 'Direct Fulfillment' scenario in cooperation with you (the supplier) that automatically updates your inventory when your Reseller sells a Product.
In addition, you can factor in.. a 'Supplier handling fee’ here, under ‘Inventory Handling Unit Price’
The table below displays the current inventory on that product & it's variations, this can be manually edited if required.
